Dearly Beloved
Directed by Emily Coffey
The Futrelle sisters, Frankie, Honey
Raye, and Twink, are throwing a wedding; sisters who have never been strangers
to gossip. After all, they did survive the scandalous breakup of their almost
famous gospel singing trio, The Sermonettes. Set in Fayro, Texas, population
3003, the wedding is not without its hilarious glitches and all-out disasters -
not with the Futrelle sisters at the helm.
Filled with strong willed, offbeat,
opinionated southern women; unique, implicitly described situations and back
stories;and plenty of comedy, with a helping of dramatic undertone and personal
crisis,
Dearly Beloved
is sure
to be a hit with Barn Lot audiences!
DUPONT MISSISSIPPI
Directed by Shane Chambers-Ennis
Verna Dewberry, the evil matriarch of
the small town of Dupont, Mississippi, has “bought the farm”, and her death is a
joyous occasion for its citizens. Estelle Lock, the minister's wife who also
plays the role of Mary, Jesus' mother in the Annual Star-Spangeled Jesus
Cantata, will perhaps finally get into the Junior League. Percy Felts, librarian
of the Dewberry Library, will be able to put the book of fairy tales back on the
shelf after Verna banned it because “she thought it was about gay people”.
Joetta Ferguson, the local “town crazy” is convinced she is the next Priscilla
Presley, but with bigger hair, just might get into Graceland after all!
Will these and a host of other
delightfully zany and eccentric friendships survive when the one thing that held
them together, their mutual hatred of Verna, no longer exists?
Dupont, Mississippi is a hilarious romp
through Southern culture and is perfect for audiences that love to laugh until
they cry!
