Wait Until Dark

Auditions for Wait Until Dark will take place on Monday, July 20 & Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 6 PM at the Metcalfe County Public Library Community Room, located across the street from the theater entrance. Parking is available at the Barn Lot Theater parking lot, street side, and the lot behind the library.

Audition Format: Participants will perform a cold reading from the script.

Alternative Arrangements: If you're unable to attend the scheduled audition, please contact info@barnlottheater.org or call the theater at (270) 432-2276 to make alternative arrangements.

Rehearsals and Performances: Anticipate at least two rehearsals per week, with frequency increasing as the production date approaches. Depending on the role, actors may not be required to attend all rehearsals. Please bring any known schedule conflicts to auditions.

Participation Requirements: Any volunteer over the age of 18 requires a background check.

Cast List/Descriptions: Ages listed are for audition purposes only; the age of the actor cast in the role may differ from what’s described.

Mike Talman – A small-time grifter with natural empathy and a good-natured style who has just been paroled from prison.

Sergeant Carlino – An uneducated, coarse, and apathetic man who is willing to do anything for money.

Harry Roat – A highly intelligent, sadistic sociopath who is a master of disguise and enjoys manipulating others for money or a thrill.

Susy Hendrix – A vivacious young woman who was blinded in a car accident and is now adjusting to her new marriage and life.

Sam Hendrix – A tough ex-marine and practical man who loves his wife and wants to see her reach her full potential.

Gloria – A bright child at an awkward age who is uncomfortable in her body and has a vague crush on Sam.

Two Police Officers – Two professional and serious police officers who appear at the end of the play.
