The Four Old Broads Christmas Extravaganza

Auditions for The Four Old Broads Christmas Extravaganza will take place on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, at 6 PM and Saturday, September 12th, 2026, at 3 PM at the Metcalfe County Public Library Community Room, located across the street from the theater entrance. Parking is available at the Barn Lot Theater parking lot, street side, and the lot behind the library.

Audition Format: Participants will perform a cold reading from the script.

Alternative Arrangements: If you're unable to attend the scheduled audition, please contact info@barnlottheater.org or call the theater at (270) 432-2276 to make alternative arrangements.

Rehearsals and Performances: Anticipate at least two rehearsals per week, with frequency increasing as the production date approaches. Depending on the role, actors may not be required to attend all rehearsals. Please bring any known schedule conflicts to auditions.

Participation Requirements: Any volunteer over the age of 18 requires a background check.

Cast List/Descriptions: Ages listed are for audition purposes only; the age of the actor cast in the role may differ from what’s described.

Note: The roles of Beatrice, Eaddy, Maude, Imogene, Sam, and Laureen have been cast by returning actors, but will be re-cast if any are unable to continue in the series. Those auditioning and not cast for a role may be considered to help the production in other ways.

Gladys Van Dyke: Barn Lot Theater is looking for our Gladys! She's the self-proclaimed resident Broadway diva of Magnolia Place -- haughty, high-strung, and endlessly dramatic. Gladys fiercely guards her age and vanity as she name-drops legends of the stage to remind everyone of her past stage glory. If you can play a loud, comedic, larger-than-life character with grand exits and massive energy, come show us your best diva!

Clovis Crown: Ready to step in as the quiet center of a chaotic storm? Barn Lot Theatre needs our Clovis! He's the sweet, gentle, and perpetually timid resident of Magnolia Place. Think of him as a senior Linus van Pelt -- endearingly soft-spoken, fiercely loyal, and constantly dragged into the wild antics around him. While he's stepped somewhat back into his quiet, awkward shell, he brings a deep, earnest heart (and brilliant physical comedy) to the madness. If you can play a charming, gentle character with subtle comedic timing who holds his own amidst total chaos, come audition!
